Lockhart Tea Factory , One of India’s largest Tea Cultivators, Situated in Devikulam around 10 km away from Munnar town.The Tea Trail Tour was conducted by Lochart Tea factory and the Tour includes following activities.

Details of Tea Trail Tour

• 9:30 am Tour check inn at Lockhart entry pont and start the tour with our tour representative.

• 9:45 to 10:00 am - Starting first section - Tea plantation Walk.

* Plantation Walk (1- 2 Hours)

Plantation walk is a day tour. Those who are coming to Munnar can opt for this activity. This involves a maximum 1-2 hour walk through the Tea plantation and interaction with Tea Pluckers to learn the local culture of the people. 

• 11:00 am to 12:00 - After Tea plantation walk, proceeding to Lockhart tea factory visit.

* Lockhart Tea Factorty Visit (1 Hour)

The Lockhart tea factory is famous for its Orthodox Tea produced in the traditional way. The visitors are given a briefing about the origins of tea for consumption, its history & health benefits and explained about the traditional tea manufacturing processes.

• 12:00 am to 1:00 pm -  Tea factory visit followed by tea tasting section in Lockhart Tea factory

* Guided Tea Tasting [30 Minutes]

The guests are explained about tea tasting terminology and are shown ways of making an ideal cup of tea. They are also allowed to taste and savor the various grades of tea produced in the factory. 

• After 1:00 pm, Optional Shopping & Relaxation - You can buy the tea products from factory outlet.

Note: Morning slot finish around 1:00 pm & afternoon slot finish at 5:30 pm in Lockhart Tea Factory.
(On your way, there is a toll booth two kilometers before the starting point of the tour, where you can use the restroom).

How to Reach Lockhart Tea Park from Munnar

1. By Bus 
Buses from Munnar Bus Stand towards Lockhart are available from around 7:00 AM. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at Lockhart Bus Stop, then walk approximately 200 metres along the Theni Road to reach Lockhart Tea Park.

2. By Tuk-Tuk / Auto-Rickshaw
The journey from Munnar town to Lockhart Tea Park takes approximately 20–25 minutes.

Please Note : Tuk-tuks are generally available from Munnar town.Tuk-tuks may not be readily available at Lockhart Tea Park for your return journey. Therefore, we recommend arranging your drop-off and return transfer in advance. Pre-booking assistance is available through Munnar Info.
